FAQ
G&H products use naturally inspired, vegetable-derived materials whenever possible, including the unique botanical blend used in each collection. The glycerin used in G&H products is plant-derived.
Yes. We use multiple exclusive technologies, including odour-control in the G&H Protect+™ collection, and there are two Amway patents associated with G&H products, plus one patent pending.
- Patents
G&H products leverage a mildness patent and two moisturising patents (one patent pending). - Fragrances
Orange Blossom Honey and all G&H fragrances are exclusive to our collections.
No, the G&H collection currently does not contain any products with sunscreen. If you are seeking a facial sunscreen, ask about the ARTISTRY skincare collection, which has several options.
Clinical testing was performed to support safety claims for all products.
Yes. In particular, our liquid cleansers are sulfate-free. While many similar products on the market contain these chemicals, G&H cleansers were formulated to eliminate sulfates while maintaining efficacy.
No. All G&H products are lightly scented with our exclusive signature fragrances, designed to appeal to both men and women.
There are no animal ingredients in any G&H products. However, the Orange Blossom Honey in our G&H Nourish+™ collection comes from bees, and so is considered animal-derived. To our knowledge, no bees were harmed.
No, none of the G&H products were tested on animals.
No wheat-derived ingredients have been deliberately included in G&H products. However, the Orange Blossom Honey in our G&H Nourish+™ collection is a naturally inspired ingredient that could conceivably contain traces of gluten if the bees visited a wheat field.
The shelf life of the unopened product is three years. Once the products are opened, they have a 12-month shelf life.
Prior to use, G&H products should be stored in a cool, dry place and out of direct sunlight. All the products have been developed to be stable under normal conditions. However, extreme heat or cold may cause instabilities (colour or fragrance changes, ingredient separation, etc.) and should be avoided.
For best results, we recommend that you cleanse your skin before applying a body moisturiser. The Body Lotion and Hand Cream can all be reapplied as often as needed.
Although the body cleansers are mild and sulfate-free, we recommend ARTISTRY face cleansers for facial use. The G&H Nourish+ Complexion Bar is also well suited for facial use. We recommend Satinique hair care products for sensational hair that's beautiful from the inside out.
No, G&H body washes are formulated to have a pH of less than 7, and therefore do not have a significant effect on the pH of the skin.
Yes. G&H washes, lotions, hand soap, and deodorant formulas (except bar soaps) have been formulated to be slightly acidic, just like skin. A pH number measures how acidic or alkaline something is, a pH of 7 or above (the scale tops out at 14) is alkaline, or basic, while a pH below 7 is acidic. The pH of skin is around 5.5, making it slightly acidic. (To maintain efficacy, our bar soaps have a slightly higher pH, closer to 9 or 10.)
All G&H products have been formulated for all ages, except infants under 6 months (apart from the Deodorant & Anti-Perspirant Roll-On, which is recommended for teenagers).
G&H products are suitable for all skin types, however, the G&H Nourish+ collection is especially suitable for people with very dry skin.
G&H products were not specifically tested on sensitive skin. Without knowing someone's specific sensitivity, we cannot make a statement. The G&H Refresh+ collection does claim to soothe and calm irritated skin, and the G&H Nourish+ collection is great for extremely dry skin.
Parabens are safely used in G&H formulas. All parabens used in our formulas are approved by the FDA and for international use, including Europe. Not all parabens are created equal, and G&H uses globally approved quality at the lowest percentage allowed to preserve and keep our lotions safe from possible contamination.
Tingling sensations, a slight stinging or mild redness were not reported during our safety studies. If you experience sensation or any unusual reaction from a G&H product, we recommend that you discontinue use for a significant period of time (one to four weeks). If desired, try it again under different circumstances (new season, use with a different body wash, etc.), but if you experience a reaction again, it is likely that you are sensitive to an ingredient in the formula and we encourage you find a comfortable alternative. If you experience a skin reaction, please contact your local Customer Service team.
Generally, we do not recommend that any skincare product be used after a “bad” sunburn. G&H products should be used after sunburn-related inflammation has subsided.
Ingredients in G&H products have been shown to be safe for use by all women. Safety studies of body care formulas are not conducted on pregnant women. Whether to use or not use this product should be discussed by the woman and her doctor.
All G&H products are dermatologist- and allergy-tested.
