You can eat more iron-rich foods like red meat, poultry and seafood. Vitamin-C rich foods boost your iron absorption as well. Limit the consumption of tea or coffee, which can inhibit the absorption of iron. If your food intake does not meet your iron requirements, consider an iron supplement as well as a vitamin C supplement, to aid in the absorption of iron.

Constipation could occur due to the lack of fibre or insufficient water intake. It is important to eat at least four to five servings of fruits and vegetables daily to ensure a sufficient intake of fibre.
